The Crossbow is a 1994 Nerf Action blaster that holds 3 Arrows and 5 Mega Darts. As the name suggests, the blaster resembles a crossbow. There are two bow arms on the blaster and bow strings which are there just for looks and do not affect performance. It has an integrated shoulder stock where the cocking mechanism is located. It can hold and fire two types of ammunition, adapted for different purposes: Arrows for long range and Mega Darts for close combat. As arrows break or wear down easily from extensive use, it is more common to see Mega Darts being used with the blaster. Due to the size of the Crossbow, it may be hard for younger children to use. Despite this, it is an extremely coveted blaster in the modification community, and is extremely popular for mods. It is a good candidate for normal modification, as well as fitting custom internals inside it due to it being extremely easy to modify, depending on the user's imagination, and has the potential for a great versatility of mods. Common modifications can make the blaster fire up to 120 feet, as well as allow the blaster to take Stefans or Micro Darts.

Description

The Crossbow is the middle blaster in the line. It has a purple body, with a black foregrip. There are two bow limbs on the front on the blaster, which also act as ammunition storage. There are two yellow wheels attached to the end of the bow limbs, with bow strings tied around them. There is a thick yellow ammunition post, meant to fit arrows and mega darts with ease.

Internals

The internals are standard for a blaster like this; the Crossbow has a priming mechanism, a plunger tube, firing trigger, catch, catch spring, and air delivery tube. These parts work well.

Position in theme

The Crossbow can act as a primary blaster in both stock and modded wars. Due to its huge modifying potential, it is very effective as a primary in modded wars.

Blaster co-relation

The Crossfire Bow could act as its spiritual successor, even though it lacks the ability to fire arrows, in exchange for a higher rate of fire.

Faults

Like all other blasters, it has faults. The main fault is that the darts do not fire as far as the arrows.

How to fire

Darts

Step 1 - Load 1 dart into the yellow post on the top.
Step 2 - Pull the grey priming bar all the way until it clicks.
Step 3 - Pull the trigger to fire the dart.

Arrows

Step 1 - Load 1 arrow onto the yellow post.
Step 2 - Pull the grey priming bar back until it clicks.
Step 3 - Pull the trigger to fire the arrow.
