A suction cup is a sort of dart head. It was the first dart head used, and is still used today. When shot at a wall, it sticks to a wall due to the suction cup. They were most popular in the 1990s era, but faded out in modern times due to the rapid-fire capabilities of other darts.

A rubber head is a type of dart head on some darts. It was first seen in 2006 on the Streamline Dart with the introduction of the Longshot CS-6. These tips cause these types of darts to notoriously fishtail. The post on the inside of a streamline dart is too long and needs to be trimmed down to fit some muzzle-loaded blasters. This was fixed with the introduction of the Elite Dart.

A whistler head is a type of dart head first seen with the PowerClip DX 1000. It has a rectangular hole on the side of the tip, which causes the dart to whistle when it flies. This ammunition is starting to see less use, the last blaster uilizing darts with these tips being the Jolt EX-1.

A velcro head is a type of dart head only seen on Dart Tag blasters. These heads have an enlarged rubber head with a piece of velcro in an x-shape stuck to the top. In recent times though, this dart gained a mix of a velcro and a whistler head, allowing them to stick to jerseys and whistle in flight.
