An assortment of Mega Darts, three of the classic suction cup-type and one Screamin' Mega Dart
Mega Darts, also known as Sucker Darts for their suction cup tips, were at one time the most popular Nerf ammunition, until they were entirely replaced by Micro Darts. Mega Darts are larger and more powerful than Micro Darts, but they have lesser reach.
Their popularity began to decline as more and more people began to purchase Micro Dart-compatible Nerf blasters. They were made of less dense foam than the current darts. A few variations were introduced of this type of dart, especially the Screamin' Mega Dart, which had a whistling head.
SuperMaxx Darts have the same outer diameter as Mega Darts, but they are a completely different type of ammunition, and are not cross-compatible except for a few blasters with no dart post and the Triple Torch.
